We currently have opportunities available for Part Time Hospice Chaplains to provide spiritual counseling and emotional support to patients, families, and staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Four units of CPE or the equivalent from an approved CPE program, theological seminary or a divinity school
  • Certification from the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Association of Protestant Chaplains (APC)
  • The ability to work with the bereaved in an ecumenical setting
  • Previous experience in dealing with patients and families in dying, grief, and bereavement processes
  • Current Wisconsin driver’s license, use of car and proof of auto insurance

Spiritual Care Counselor

Bilingual Spanish

You will provide direct spiritual care to the hospice patients/family members in accordance with the plan of care developed by the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, you will ensure that the spiritual services provided assist with self-determined life closure, safe and comfortable dying and effective grieving in compliance with hospice standards.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in humanities or related field. Excellent interpersonal, communications and PC skill (MS Office) also required. Must have access to a vehicle and have a valid driver's license. A Master's degree in divinity or theology, one unit of clinical pastoral education and one year of experience in a hospital or hospice pastoral care program preferred.

Bereavement Counselor

You will provide direct bereavement care to the surviving family members/significant others of Hospice Care clients and ensure that services provided are in compliance with Hospice Care philosophy and procedures.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in humanities, psychology, health care, theology or a related field. A minimum one year of experience working with terminally ill patients and bereaved families essential. A Master's degree in counseling, social work, thanatology or a related field preferred.
