Clinical Pastoral Education
(CPE) supervisors have
a special place in the
world of professional
chaplaincy. More than
anyone else, supervisors
are responsible for preparing
the next generation of
multifaith chaplains
for service in a competitive,
changing, and increasingly
diverse healthcare system.
Students
educated in The Chaplaincy’s
Supervisory Residency
often go on to become
leaders in the pastoral
care field: publishing
original academic work,
contributing to best
practice standards, and
helping to recruit more
chaplains from underrepresented
religions and ethnicities.
The Supervisory Residency
is challenging and widely
respected for meeting
the needs of students
from many faith traditions,
ethnicities, and nationalities,
including those who wish
to be certified on an
accelerated timeframe.
