Application Process and Criteria for Admission
Our accredited CPE programs are open to seminarians, clergy, members of religious orders, and laity. Admission criteria include the ability to provide spiritual care to others in intensive situations and to remain open to learning through an action-reflection educational model.
CPE Units
Application deadline for summer unit is December 15th (for early admission).
Application Process
a) Complete The Chaplaincy’s application materials, including all essays.
b) Include application fee of $50, made payable to The HealthCare Chaplaincy.
c) Provide The Chaplaincy’s reference form to three recommenders. The reference
giver must submit the completed form directly to the registrar.
d) Provide copies of previous CPE evaluations, if any.
e) You will be contacted by The Chaplaincy to arrange an admissions interview
with a CPE supervisor.
Supervisory Residency
Supervisory residents learn the art of supervising student chaplains. The Chaplaincy's faculty works closely with the supervisory residents as they move from the level of course assistant to independent supervision of CPE students. Completion of this curriculum takes two or more years.
Application Process
a) Complete The Chaplaincy’s application materials, including all essays, and submit
by March 15th.
b) Include application fee of $100, made payable to The HealthCare Chaplaincy.
c) Provide The Chaplaincy’s reference form to three references. The reference
giver must submit the completed form directly to the registrar.
d) Provide copies of evaluations (both self and supervisor's) of all previous CPE units.
e) Include two verbatims.
f)
Include a three-page paper on the Theology of Pastoral Care.
g) You will be contacted by The Chaplaincy to arrange an interview with an
admissions committee.
