Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Supervisory Residency Program

The role of a clinical pastoral education (CPE) Supervisor is that of ‘leader in the world of professional chaplaincy.' CPE supervisors are ultimately accountable for preparing the next generation of multifaith chaplains for service in a changing and increasingly diverse healthcare system. Students educated in Chaplaincy’s Supervisory Residency often go on to become leaders in the pastoral care field: publishing original academic work, contributing to best practice standards, and helping to recruit more chaplains from underrepresented religions and ethnicities. HealthCare Chaplaincy Supervisory Residency is both widely respected and challenging.

We offer a faculty of experienced clinical pastoral educators who are diverse with respect to faith and culture. Chaplaincy supervisors participate on APC, NACC, and NAJC Certification Committees.
