 James C. Gorton is a partner in the Corporate Department of the law firm Latham & Watkins LLP’s New York office, specializing in international financing. He advises companies and private equity firms seeking to make investments in the telecommunications sector. Jim has represented many banks, financial institutions and other companies in a wide range of US and international project and infrastructure financings, including buildouts, financings of telecommunications systems and energy facilities, securitization and lease financing transactions and specialized trade financings. Previously Jim was an executive vice president and general counsel of Global Crossing Limited and a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He is a graduate of Columbia College and NYU School of Law. Jim is a member of the New York Bar.
